Jury finds Biden’s son guilty in gun possession case

The jury reached a guilty verdict on the case of violations in the possession of weapons by the son of the President of the United States Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden was found guilty on all three counts of the charge.

It was put forward by the U.S. Department of Justice. The investigation against the son of US President Joe Biden on the case of weapons possession began in 2018, when it became known that during that period he took drugs and at the same time possessed a revolver. U.S. law prohibits people who use or possess drugs from buying or keeping guns.

He faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000.

A sentencing date has not yet been set, with sentencing usually occurring within 120 days.

This is the first case in American history, when the son of a sitting president is found guilty of a crime. Biden Jr. will likely receive far less than the maximum sentence as a first-time offender.

At the same time, he is unlikely to be sentenced to a real prison term, since the crime is non-violent and the defendant has not previously been prosecuted for weapons violations. The publication does not exclude that the parties can agree on a deal in which Hunter Biden pleads guilty.
