In New York City has begun regulating the transportation of undocumented migrants

New York Mayor Eric Adams has introduced regulations for bus companies that organize transportation of illegal migrants to the city from the states on the border with Mexico.

Adams obliged companies organizing charter bus transportation to notify local authorities 32 hours in advance of the arrival of transport with migrants. He also introduced clear time intervals in which it is possible to carry out the disembarkation of migrants in New York. It is noted that failure to comply with these requirements will be tantamount to an offense and will lead to fines and legal proceedings, up to the confiscation of buses.

Adams emphasized that “this is not about preventing migrants from coming.” According to him, these measures are designed to ensure safety in the city, as well as to organize a “coordinated and orderly reception” of refugees. According to his data, in New York “on average for a week arrive about 4 thousand people, which potentially means the arrival of 16 thousand people a month, who must be fed, clothed, as well as educate their children.”

Adams previously noted that the city is having a hard time coping with thousands of migrants who are “sleeping on the streets or in shelters.” In his opinion, “this problem will destroy New York City.” In late September, New York State Governor Kathy Hokul activated 150 National Guard personnel to combat the migrant crisis. Thus, the total number of fighters involved at the state level reached 2,050.

In 2022, the authorities of Texas, Arizona and Florida began to massively send by bus to Washington, New York and other major cities foreigners who entered the United States after illegally crossing the border with Mexico. In this way, they are protesting against the excessively soft, in their opinion, migration policy of US President Joe Biden.
