Filming of the sequel to the Paddington Bear movie begins on July 24
Filming of the third installment of “The Adventures of Paddington” will begin on July 24. It will be directed by Dougal Wilson, who has previously shot commercials and music videos.
David Hayman, who worked on the first two parts of the film as well as the Harry Potter franchise, will produce the picture. The writers of the first parts of “Paddingtons” Paul King and Simon Farnaby took part in developing the plot.
The character of Paddington was invented by writer Michael Bond. The first book about the bear cub from Peru who came to Paddington Station in London was published in 1958. After the success of the stories Bond left his job at the BBC broadcasting company and devoted himself entirely to writing. In total, more than 20 books of stories about the adventures of the bear cub were published, which sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.
An animated series was made based on the stories in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2014 and 2017, “The Adventures of Paddington” feature films were released in cinemas, grossing more than $450 million at the worldwide box office.
