In Canada, the construction of an unusual house in the form of a Jenga tower was launched
The unusual architectural project Fifteen Fifteen by Büro Ole Scheeren is entering its realization phase. The blocky high-rise has begun to be built in Vancouver. The building has 42 floors, although the exact height is not yet known. The main feature is the large cantilevered sections, which seem to protrude beyond the rest of the building and resemble the blocks in the famous game Jenga.
The building is planned to have 202 apartments, ranging from one-room studios to 3-bedroom apartments, as well as “residences-observatories” with a magnificent view from the inside of the protruding blocks. One cantilever will be occupied by a common lobby, and the upper floors will be occupied by elite penthouses. Inside all the floors will be decorated with wooden floors and ceilings, panoramic windows and modern appliances.
“My vision for Fifteen Fifteen is to create a connection between nature, urban living and personal space,” says architect Ole Scheeren. “Too often architecture is designed separately from interiors and decorations that have nothing to do with the building itself. At Fifteen Fifteen, we create a unity between the two and the concept of three-dimensional living with the city and nature.”
Prices for studio apartments start at $900,000 Canadian, which is about $1.1 million. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026.
