Unknown man won $1 billion in the lottery

A Powerball lottery participant has won a jackpot of $1.08 billion, according to the official website of the lottery.

The winner can split the entire value of the prize into 30 annual payments or receive a lump sum payment of $516.8 million.

The name of the winner has not been reported. However, the CBS television network reports that the winning ticket was purchased in California.

This prize was the third largest prize ever won by the Powerball lottery. The record winnings amounted to $2.04 billion, and a jackpot of $1.586 billion was also drawn.
