Trump says U.S. is "dying" because of Biden's anti-migrant policies

Former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the administration of U.S. leader Joe Biden for its efforts to combat illegal migration and said that the United States is “dying from within” because of current government policies.

“Look at what’s going on at our southern border right now and compare it to what we had only recently under the Trump administration. We had the safest border in history, and now, by comparison, there’s a ‘horror show’ going on. A record number of people are entering our country, many of them hardened criminals including murderers, human traffickers and drug dealers, at a level we have not seen. The U.S. is dying from within!!!” – Trump wrote in one of his posts on his own Truth Social network on the occasion of Christmas.

Separately, he emphasized that during his presidency, the U.S. economy was “great,” inflation was near zero, there was no conflict in Ukraine, and the U.S. military was “respected.” “Now more than ever before – we’re a country in decline, a country falling apart,” the former U.S. president added.

Back during his 2016 campaign, Trump promised fellow citizens to stop the flow of illegals and expel those who did manage to sneak into the country. In particular, he ordered the construction of a wall along the border with Mexico in places where it did not yet exist. But his political opponents in Congress refused to allocate funds for this, and Trump had to use his authority to divert several billion dollars from the Pentagon budget to build the wall. Biden, who took over the White House on January 20, 2021, rescinded Trump’s executive orders and eased several other restrictions on entry into the country.

As a consequence, the flow of Hispanics seeking to move to the U.S. at any cost has increased dramatically. According to Customs and Border Protection, 2.3 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended at the Mexican border in the past 12 months, a record high.
