Trump has prepared a nickname for Harris in case she is nominated instead of Biden

Donald Trump takes seriously Vice President Kamala Harris as his likely rival in the November presidential election. He is preparing a “tough response” to Harris in case of her possible nomination as the Democratic Party’s nominee. Trump has already given the vice president the nickname “giggling Kamala Harris.”

However, some of the sources expressed concern that Harris may pose a greater threat to Trump than he suggests. She has significant support among women, who historically vote more often than men, and could use that advantage if nominated.

In this situation, the argument about the advanced age of Trump’s presidential rival also loses relevance, since Harris is nearly twenty years younger than he is. Trump’s advisers also recognize that his possible attacks on Harris during the campaign could alienate wavering voters against the backdrop of the vice president’s mixed Indian-African-American background.

The Wall Street Journal reported on July 2 that Harris is considered the most likely candidate to replace incumbent President Joe Biden should he drop out of the race. According to the publication, Harris has recently begun to strengthen her position in the Biden administration, including on national security issues.

On June 27, a televised debate between Biden and Trump was held in Atlanta (Georgia). According to a CNN poll, two-thirds of viewers who watched the debate awarded the victory to Trump. As WSJ reported, panic has set in among Democrats in the U.S. Congress because of Biden’s disappointing, in their opinion, performance. Some of them hope to find a new presidential candidate from the Democratic Party.
