There was an explosion at an apartment building in Chicago

At least eight people were injured Tuesday in an explosion at an apartment building in Chicago, Illinois. The state fire department reported this on its Twitter page.

“There was an explosion in the West End neighborhood. Residents of the adjacent building are being evacuated,” the post said. According to the service, at least eight people were injured in the explosion, with three of them assessed to be in serious or critical condition.

U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officials are on the scene.
