The U.S. will provide nearly $54 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine
U.S. authorities will provide nearly $54 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced Sunday.
“Thinking about the well-being of ordinary Ukrainians, we are announcing nearly $54 million in humanitarian aid to those affected by the Russian invasion,” Anthony Blinken said in a statement.
The funds will be channeled through “independent humanitarian organizations that provide assistance based on need, doing so with impartiality, humanity, neutrality and independence.”
“This additional aid will allow international humanitarian organizations to further support the people of Ukraine, working closely with the government of Ukraine and European allies and partners,” Blinken added.
According to him, the said funds will go, among other things, to provide food, drinking water, shelter, and emergency medical assistance.
