The U.S. government has decided to invest nearly $20 billion in Intel

The U.S. government will invest almost $20 billion in the development of Intel Corporation. $8.5 billion will come in the form of direct financing, and another $11 billion – under the credit line for the development of semiconductors and other high-tech components.

The funds are directed to the construction and expansion of Intel enterprises in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio and Oregon. Implementation of the projects will create about 30 thousand jobs and support tens of thousands more at related enterprises, the report says.

The volume of investments in this area is expected to exceed $240 billion. According to the U.S. administration, this will contribute to “the return of semiconductor manufacturing to the U.S.”.
