The Seakool D2 underwater scooter will give divers new, unfamiliar capabilities

Fans of “lightweight” underwater walks are in luck – the development of the company HighGreat will make them more enjoyable. The startup offers a completely unusual scooter Seakool D2, which is attached to the swimmer’s belt. This keeps the diver’s hands free, providing a greater degree of freedom underwater. The Indiegogo platform is now raising funds to put this new product into mass production.

The scooter consists of several modules, which are attached to the waist belt. This is a lithium polymer battery, a control unit, and two thrusters attached to the diver’s hips. Each provides 13 kilograms of thrust, which allows a swimmer weighing 80 kilograms to travel at 7.2 kilometers per hour for at least 30 minutes. There is also a choice of less high-speed modes with longer travel times.

The scooter will come with a single battery, and it will weigh only 6 kilograms. A battery with double the capacity can be purchased if desired. The device is designed for use in depths of up to 20 meters. The Seakool D2 is expected to retail for $1,689, but those who support the project and become an early investor will get the scooter for only $998.
