The Oldest Bible Written in Hebrew Sold at Sotheby's for Over $38 Million
The earliest and most complete Bible in Hebrew was sold at auction in New York for $38.1 million, the auction house Sotheby’s said on its Twitter page.
“The earliest and most complete Bible in Hebrew was sold for $38.1 million in a historic separate auction today,” the auction house said in a statement.
Sotheby’s website notes that the Bible was created around the year 900 and is “the earliest surviving example of a single volume containing all the books of the Bible in Hebrew.”
