Senator Lindsey Graham bet $20 on Biden's defeat in 2024 election

Senator Lindsey Graham (South Carolina Republican) bet $20 that incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden would lose the presidential election in 2024.

Speaking on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, a recording of which was published Tuesday, Graham spoke favorably about former President Donald Trump’s political views. “But at the end of the day he needs to convince the people, not me, that he’s capable of leading us again, and that’s not going to be easy. Nor will it be easy for Biden to convince Americans to give him four more years. We’ll see what happens,” said the senator.

The program’s host, former Senator Al Franken (Democrat of Minnesota), disagreed with Graham, and he offered to bet him $20 that Biden could not win the election. “The money should be paid out here in the studio of the show,” he added.

The next U.S. presidential election is scheduled for November 2024. Trump announced in November 2022 that he intended to run for the nation’s highest office. Biden has made it clear that he expects to be re-elected.
