Psaki revealed what topics Biden and Putin will discuss

U.S. President Joe Biden, during his upcoming conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, intends to touch upon cybersecurity and bilateral relations in addition to Ukraine. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this at a regular briefing on Monday.

“This will be an opportunity for the president to underscore our concerns about Russian military activity on the border with Ukraine and reaffirm U.S. support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It’s also an opportunity to discuss a number of issues relating to U.S.-Russia relations, including strategic stability, cyber and regional issues,” she said. Psaki also assured that the current U.S. administration aims “not to cause an escalation in the relationship, but to put it on a more stable footing.”

The U.S. is aiming to put relations with Russia on a more stable footing, not to escalate. The upcoming conversation between Biden and Putin should not be seen as an opportunity for the U.S. to make threats to Russia.
