Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to invest in eco-business

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become partners with Ethic, an investment firm that advises wealthy clients on how best to invest their money, keeping in mind such contemporary issues as climate change and human rights.

“Harry and Meghan share many of our values and, we suspect, yours as well. That’s why we are delighted to have them as our partners,” Ethic said in a statement. – They truly express a desire to help address the critical issues of our time, such as climate change, gender equality, health, racial justice, human rights and the strengthening of democracy, and understand that these issues are inherently interconnected.”

The company, which manages $1.3 billion in assets, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would help “reach millions around the world.” Prince Harry made the same point in an interview with The New York Times. He hopes that their couple will be able to stimulate interest among young people in sustainable investments.

Sustainable investments have become more popular in the past decade, thanks in large part to millennials. In the U.S., investment in ethical funds doubled to $51 billion between 2019 and 2020.

After moving to the U.S. and rejecting funding from the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already struck several deals with major companies, including streaming services Spotify and Netflix.
