Pop singer Eric Carmen has died
Pop singer Eric Carmen, author of the 1970s hit All by Myself, died at the age of 74.
“It is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Eric Carmen’s passing. Our sweet, loving and talented Eric passed away in his sleep over the weekend,” reads the text of the obituary on the musician’s website.
Carmen was born in 1949 in the United States. The future musician from childhood loved classical music and played the piano. He achieved his first serious success as a member of the pop-rock band Raspberries (1970-1975), where he was the main vocalist, as well as the author and co-writer of all the hits of the group.
After the breakup of the musical group in 1975, Carmen decided to start a solo career. Among the songs performed by Carmen are such hits as All by Myself, Never Gonna Fall in Love Again, She Did It, Hungry Eyes and Make Me Lose Control.
