NASA published images from the Orion probe taken during its farewell Moon flyby

NASA has published images of the back side of the moon, which were taken during the Orion spacecraft’s orbit of the moon as part of the Artemis I mission.

The photos were taken with a high-resolution GoPro Hero 4 camera mounted at the very edge of one of the solar panels. The “farewell” photos were much clearer compared to those from the first flyby.

Recall that Orion launched on November 15. A few days ago, the spacecraft launched a three-minute cruise engine, which allowed it to December 6, left a lunar orbit and set a course for Earth.

The next step will be a manned mission Artemis II in 2024, during which astronauts will bypass the moon without landing on the route paved Artemis I, and after another year in the framework of Artemis III astronauts will land on its surface.
