More than 500 Cuban migrants made it to Florida

More than 500 Cuban migrants have come ashore in the U.S. archipelago of the Florida Keys after the weekend.

It’s another group of a growing number of migrants fleeing the communist island.

The influx is straining U.S. border officials both on land and at sea.

It’s a dangerous journey: over the years, it has ended in death for thousands. But more and more Cubans are taking the risk.

Since Oct. 1, some 4,200 people have been stopped at sea.

The Coast Guard tries to intercept Cuban migrants at sea and return them to the island, but many manage to make it to the United States.
