Mnuchin On The Economic Shutdown Caused By The Coronavirus Pandemic

The US expects to overcome the coronavirus crisis in 10-12 weeks, said the Treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin in an interview with Fox Business.

“We’re looking at anywhere from a 10- to 12-week scenario. We can stabilize the economy, but if necessary, we will return later to Congress”

Congress is debating the third bill in a row to combat the coronavirus with a volume of more than 1 trillion dollars. Initially, Congress allocated more than $8 billion for this purpose, then passed a $100 billion package of employee assistance, guaranteeing paid leave to those who get sick with the virus.
