The winner of the 2019 Miss USA Beauty Pageant, Cheslie Kryst, committed suicide in downtown New York City, the New York Post reported, citing law enforcement sources.

Kryst’s body was found Sunday morning on a street adjacent to the house where she lived. Police are investigating what happened. Crist left a suicide note asking her to give all of her possessions to her mother.

Kryst, 30, had a law degree and, after winning the Miss USA title, worked as a correspondent for the entertainment television show “Extra.” “Our hearts were broken. Cheslie was not only a vital part of our show, but a beloved member of the “Extra” family. Our deepest condolences to her entire family and friends,” reads a statement on the show’s website.
