Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill on The Witcher from season four

Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, known from the movie “The Hunger Games,” will replace Henry Cavill, who plays the title role in the “The Witcher” series from season four.

Cavill had a short-term contract with the writers of the project. Due to the fact that shooting the series involves a busy schedule, he decided to withdraw from the project after three seasons, sources familiar with the situation told the portal. It is noted that the other actors have also reviewed their contracts before the fourth season.

It is reported that Cavill is now engaged in several TV and film projects, among them – the announced movie Guy Ritchie’s “The Ministry of Non-Gentleman’s War” about the Second World War. In addition, the actor will return to play the role of Superman.

The third season of “The Witcher” is expected to premiere in the summer of 2023.

In September, video service Netflix, which produces the show, announced the extension of “The Witcher” for the fourth and fifth seasons at once.

The main characters in previous seasons of The Witcher, based on the works of Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, played by Henry Cavill (as Heralt), Anya Chalotra (enchantress Jennifair, the lover of Heralt) and Freya Allan (heiress of the Kingdom of Cintra named Ciri). Cavill is best remembered for his roles as Superman in Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017).
