In the U.S., more than 25,000 people have died in shooting incidents since the beginning of the year

More than 25 thousand people have become victims of firearms use in the United States since the beginning of the year.

Shooting incidents have killed 25,186 people, including 170 children under the age of 11 and 878 teenagers between the ages of 12 and 17. More than 22,000 people were injured. In total, there were 421 mass shooting incidents in the U.S. in the first half of 2023, 28 of which were classified as mass murders.

On average, there are two mass shooting incidents per day in the country. Statistics show that 2023 could see a record number of them. In comparison, in 2021, when the previous record was set, there were 690 mass shooting incidents in the states.

The right to own firearms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
