In New Jersey and Ohio, TikTok was banned on official devices
Authorities in New Jersey and Ohio said they are joining the decision of other states to ban the popular video application TikTok on official electronic devices.
This was announced by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. In addition to banning the installation of TikTok on official devices, he also banned the use of software and services from more than a dozen vendors, including Huawei, Hikvision, Tencent Holdings LTD, ZTE Corporation and Kaspersky Lab.
Last year, 19 state governments banned the use of the TikTok app, owned by Chinese company ByteDance Ltd, on the working electronic devices of those state governments.
In December 2022, the House of Representatives of Congress banned the use of the Chinese social networking app TikTok on all official electronic devices used for work in the House of Representatives and by all its employees.
