In California, more than 500 thousand consumers were left without electricity due to bad weather
More than 500 thousand consumers were left without power supply in the state of California because of severe weather conditions.
According to information, by 00:40 local time, 547,728 consumers remained without power in California. The biggest number of blackouts is in the counties of Sacramento (over 300 thousand) and San Joaquin (over 50 thousand), located in the central part of the state.
The cause of the mass outages were heavy downpours and stormy wind gusts. Forecasters also predict an influx of moist air from tropical latitudes into the state. As a result of this atmospheric phenomenon, California may experience heavy downpours and snowfall in mountainous areas on Monday.
