In Britain they named four variants of nuclear strikes of the USA against Russia

The Sun, a British tabloid, described a possible U.S. response to a hypothetical use of nuclear weapons by Russia. According to the article, there are four possible scenarios for the reaction of Washington and the North Atlantic Alliance.

The first option, as noted in the article, is a nuclear strike against Russia, including Moscow. However, the experts call it unlikely because such a development would lead to an escalation of the conflict and its transformation “into a horrific full-scale nuclear war between the West and Russia.”

As a second probable measure, the author of the article calls a strike on the Russian armed forces taking part in the special operation in Ukraine.

The third and fourth scenarios include a limited nuclear strike against Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that for the first time since the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis the world is threatened with a nuclear war. The head of the White House put the blame for the escalation on the Russian leadership.

In September, President Vladimir Putin said in an address to the Russians that the West had crossed every line in its anti-Russian policy, as well as constant threats against Russia. According to Putin, the West has resorted to nuclear blackmail and the use of weapons of mass destruction against Moscow. He reminded the West that Russia surpasses foreign military equipment in a number of components and warned those trying to blackmail them with nuclear weapons that the winds might blow in their direction.

Scenarios under which Russia could theoretically use nuclear weapons are outlined in Russia’s military doctrine and the Fundamentals of State Policy for Nuclear Deterrence. According to the documents, this is possible in the event of aggression against Russia or its allies using weapons of mass destruction or aggression using conventional weapons, when the existence of the state itself is threatened.
