IBM will suspend hiring employees who can be replaced by AI

New York, May 2.

IBM Corp. will suspend for five years hiring employees whose functions can be performed by artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by the head of the corporation Arvind Krishna in an interview published Tuesday to Bloomberg agency.

He said the company has about 26,000 employees who are not involved in communicating with customers. “I could easily see 30 percent of those employees being replaced by artificial intelligence over a five-year period,” Krishna said.

According to a survey conducted by channel Fox News, most Americans have a negative attitude towards AI and believe that the authorities should regulate this area.
