Google will allow to pay for cloud services with cryptocurrency
Google will allow certain customers to pay for Google Cloud services with cryptocurrency. The company said in a statement distributed on Tuesday.
“Google Cloud intends to allow selected customers, starting with those involved in the Web3 ecosystem, to pay for cloud services with certain cryptocurrencies,” the statement said.
The company did not specify a launch date for the new service, nor which cryptocurrencies will be accepted.
The use of cryptocurrencies will be possible as a result of Google’s partnership with the cryptocurrency service Coinbase. As a result of this cooperation Coinbase will also be able to use the computing power of Google’s cloud services, as well as create its own data center in the Google Cloud.
