Fauci will resign when Biden's term ends

Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical adviser, told Politico that he intends to resign by the end of Biden’s current term.

Fauci expressed his desire to put the politicization of Covid-19 behind him.

Fauci is now 81 years old. Having spent more than 50 years in federal service, he has served under seven presidents.

Since 1984, Fauci was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and gained national and international prominence when he led the coordination of the fight against COVID-19.

The scientist became head of the White House task force to combat the coronavirus during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Fauci himself is convinced that his main historical merit is the fight against AIDS. Research on the virus became his life’s work, and it was his work in this area that led Fauci to head NIAID.
