Elon Musk will join Twitter’s board of directors
Elon Musk will join the board of directors of the social network Twitter. This is reported in a statement on the website of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
“The company will appoint Mr. Musk to the board of directors, his term will expire at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in 2024,” the document said. Twitter director Parag Agrawal also confirmed the announcement on his page on that social network.
“I am happy to announce that we are appointing Ilon Musk to our board of directors! In discussions with Ilon over the past weeks, it became clear to us that he will be a valuable member of our board,” Agrawal wrote.
Musk himself, for his part, said he was looking forward to joining the company “to make significant improvements to Twitter in the coming months.”
On Monday, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission disclosed that Musk owns 9.2 percent of Twitter. The same day, the entrepreneur asked his followers about the need to add editing capabilities to the social network, but no official announcement was made about his future role at Twitter.
