Donald Trump won the Republican caucuses in North Dakota

Donald Trump won the caucuses in North Dakota. Meetings of party supporters to discuss the candidates and then vote were held Monday at 12 locations across the state.

At the end of the caucuses, Trump received 84 percent of the vote, well ahead of former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who received 14 percent.

According to North Dakota rules, a candidate needs to get at least 20 percent of the vote to get party convention delegates to his or her coffers.

On the other hand, a candidate who gets at least 60 percent of the vote gets all the delegates from the state.

So far, Haley has only been able to win in the D.C. metropolitan area in the primary, which was held on Sunday.
