Donald Trump says he is prepared for possible jail time

Former US President Donald Trump has said he is prepared for an outcome in which a court would sentence him to an actual prison term.

“They can do that,” he said in response to a question about whether the court could sentence him to house arrest or even jail time. – I wouldn’t mind that.”

Asked about his attitude that his sentencing in the financial forgery case will take place four days before the Republican Party’s national convention, which will be held July 15 – 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trump said “it’s part of the game.”

Trump also suggested that the American public may not accept this outcome. “I don’t know if the public would tolerate that,” he said. – I think the public would have a hard time accepting it. You know, at a certain point there comes a tipping point.”

On May 30, a jury in New York found Trump responsible for tampering with Trump Organization financial records while paying money to former porn actress Stormy Daniels. Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts. Sentencing is scheduled for July 11. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
