Delorean is working on a fantastic Omega concept car

Everyone probably remembers the movie “Back to the Future” and the DMC-12 car from Delorean that became legendary thanks to it. Now the recreated company is working on a concept of a new car, in which everything that fans liked is rethought. The project involves the already almost production coupe Alpha5 – it has turned into an ultra-futuristic concept car Omega.

The electric car looks quite nice, but does not stand out from its competitors. It is able to accelerate to a hundred in just 3 seconds. An updated version of the Alpha5 will be available in 2024, but the Omega looks like an amusement for the designers at the moment. Expect its release in the next few years for sure. But the car deserves a more detailed story.

It shows the brand’s designers’ view of the car of the future. It will be difficult for us to understand why there are no windows in the doors. But nobody will be able to provoke the driver to race from the start at a traffic light. The lattice rear windows were transformed into a series of rising hexagons. Unusualness is also present in the textured rubber tires. The suspension is flat and open and has no visible connection to the wheels.

The rear end of the concept car looks unusual and intimidating. Interestingly, the car has no mudguards – probably in the future there will be just no dirt. And yet Delorean takes their project seriously. This is clear from the fact that it successfully passed the 3D rendering stage and was presented at the Pebble Beach Auto Show.
