Court decides to suspend Hunter Biden’s law license
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit decided to suspend the license of the son of U.S. President Joe Biden Hunter, giving him the right to practice law. This is stated in the court’s ruling.
The decision was made after reviewing copies of the indictment and jury verdict of the court in the state of Delaware, which states that the son of prisident Biden was found guilty on three charges, and his offenses are “serious crimes”.
“It is ordered that the defendant’s right to practice law in the District of Columbia be immediately suspended until this matter is resolved,” the document reads.
The jury had earlier reached a guilty verdict on the gun violations. He was found guilty on all three charges brought by the U.S. Department of Justice.
The investigation into Hunter Biden’s gun possession case began in 2018, when it was revealed that he had taken drugs while in possession of a revolver at the time. U.S. law prohibits people who use or possess drugs from purchasing or keeping guns.
In September 2023, a grand jury in Delaware approved charges against Hunter Biden by the prosecutor’s office for three offenses related to gun possession. Two of the offenses were related to lying in writing in 2018 when he purchased a Colt Cobra revolver that he did not take drugs. The third involved violating a law that prohibits drug addicts from possessing firearms.
Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison on the combined charges.
