China is a serious concern for Americans
Only 40 percent of American adults approve of the way President Joe Biden is building a relationship with China, a new poll shows.
The poll also found that most Americans are concerned about Beijing’s influence, while the White House’s agenda is increasingly defined by global rivalries.
The Associated Press-NORC Public Policy Research Center poll found that about 6 in 10 people polled have serious concerns about China, which is the world’s second-largest economy.
The percentage of respondents who feel the same wariness about Russia has decreased from last year’s poll, conducted shortly after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Back then, in March 2022, 64 percent of those surveyed said they had serious concerns about Russia; now the figure is 53 percent.
