BMW has introduced ConnectedRide smart glasses for bikers

At the BMW Motorrad Days event in Berlin, a new high-tech accessory for fans of the brand – ConnectedRide smart glasses – was unveiled. They are designed specifically for the needs of bikers and can be used with any type of equipment. But BMW motorcycle owners will have an advantage – for example, they will be able to change the settings of the glasses with the help of a multi-controller on the handlebars, while the rest of us will have to pick up a smartphone.

The purpose of the ConnectedRide glasses is to display various useful information in front of the motorcycle driver’s eyes. The interface is deliberately made redundant, as it is designed for a wide range of consumers. It is useful for a beginner to know what gear he is riding in now, an experienced biker does not need it, but he will not hurt the value of the speed limit in the area he crosses. Glasses will be of great help to those who are traveling abroad, as they can provide information that drivers are not even aware of.

The ConnectedRide goggles have a run time of less than 10 hours on a single charge, but they can easily be recharged from the motorcycle while the driver pauses to refuel. The goggles are adapted for use with most helmet models, and they have two sets of lenses – translucent and tinted. Interchangeable nose stops are available, and there’s an option to install lenses with diopters. The cost of a pair of ConnectedRide is $750.
