Biden says the U.S. is ready to work on nuclear control

The U.S. is ready to implement nuclear arms control measures regardless of world events, U.S. President Joe Biden said from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly.

“Regardless of what happens in the world, the U.S. is prepared to implement critical arms control measures. A nuclear war cannot be won and therefore must not be fought,” he said.

The president accused Russia of departing from “nonproliferation ideals” and “irresponsible nuclear threats.” China, according to Biden, is conducting an “unprecedented nuclear arms buildup” without any transparency.
