Biden puts forward plan to fight armed crime

President Joe Biden is visiting Pennsylvania. The purpose of the trip is to talk about the administration’s plan to reduce gun violence.

Recall that this is a major issue for Americans ahead of the upcoming congressional elections in November.

Biden’s plan, which he will present to lawmakers, includes $37 billion for crime prevention programs and additional funding for police to reduce gun crime.

Biden also proposes $13 billion over the next five years to hire and train 100,000 new police officers.

In the run-up to the upcoming election in November, many Republican candidates want to portray Democrats as politicians unwilling to deal with rising crime rates in some parts of the country, claiming in particular that Democrats are allegedly in favor of cutting off police funding.

Recall that protests against racial injustice in 2020 resulted in an entire movement calling for this.

However, much of the Democrats, including Biden, have never supported such initiatives.

Biden’s low approval rating raises concerns among many Democrats that this will negatively affect their campaigns in the run-up to the midterm elections.

As in 2020, when Biden was elected president, Pennsylvania will be a key state where competition for congressional seats in November and for the Oval Office in the next presidential election in 2024 will be particularly tough.
