U.S. and Russian Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin instructed their aides to work on topics the two leaders discussed during their Tuesday video call. The White House said in a written statement issued at the conclusion of Biden and Putin’s conversation.
During the video call, Biden and Putin discussed bilateral dialogue on strategic stability. The presidents also discussed a separate dialogue on computer ransomware viruses and working together on regional issues such as Iran.
It also became known that Biden in a conversation with Putin said that the U.S. and allies will respond with tough economic measures in a military escalation against Ukraine. Biden in his conversation with Putin called for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy in the situation around Ukraine.
