Aerosmith announced farewell tour
Aerosmith has announced that it will hold a farewell concert tour. A message to that effect was posted Monday on the group’s Twitter page.
After 50 years, 10 world tours and performances for more than 100 million fans, it’s time for one last push.
The tour is called Peace Out, which can be translated as “see you” or “see you later.” According to the poster attached to the social media post, the tour will begin Sept. 2, 2023, in Philadelphia and conclude Jan. 26, 2024, in Montreal. The Black Crowes will perform as a “special guest.”
The band Aerosmith was formed in 1970 by Steven Tyler (Tallarico), Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton, later joined by guitarist Brad Whitford and drummer Joey Kramer. The band is the winner of four Grammy Awards. In 2001, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone magazine and VH1 included the band in their lists of the 100 greatest musicians of all time.
