At least 10 people aboard an American Norwegian cruise ship arriving at a port in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States, have tested positive for coronavirus. That was according to a statement from the state health department released Saturday.

A Norwegian cruise ship arriving in New Orleans this weekend has detected 10 cases of coronavirus infection among crew and passengers.

Measures have been taken to contain the outbreak and prevent further spread of the virus. “Every person on board will be tested for coronavirus before disembarkation,” the statement said. – Those who test positive for coronavirus will either go home in a private vehicle or self-isolate in accordance with recommendations from the U.S. federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in facilities provided by Norwegian.”

It is noted that there are more than 3,200 people aboard the liner that left New Orleans on November 28. On the way the ship stopped in Belize, Honduras and Mexico.
