Russia is open to trade and economic relations with all countries, including the United States, and strategic partnership with China does not prevent this, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We are open to work with everyone, including the United States. There, however, we have a negligible bilateral trade. There was 30 billion, under Obama fell to twenty, now with Donald Trump has grown by five billion, despite the fact that he, in my opinion, thirty times introduced various restrictions,” Putin said at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, answering the question whether trade relations with China could replace Russia’s economic relations with Europe.
“We do not oppose anything to anyone, we are ready to work with everyone,” the president added.
He stressed that the reduction in trade with European countries was not the fault of Russia, but now it is gradually growing. “Now trade amounts to 300 billion (dollars). But still, common sense prevails, and the trade turnover increases,” said the head of state.
