Taylor Swift Reacts to Announcement That Travis Kelce Is Chiefs’ Man of the Year Nominee
Taylor Swift subtly reacted to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, being nominated as the Man of the Year by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs’ Instagram account posted a video on Thursday, December 5, announcing that Travis, 35, had been selected to be the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
“You know him for what he does on Sundays, but his efforts reach further than the football field. Thank you for all that you do @killatrav,” the caption read alongside a video that showed Travis making charitable contributions. “Vote Travis for the Charity Challenge at the link in our bio!”
Soon after the video was uploaded, Taylor, 34, showed her support by “liking” the post.

According to the team’s website, the award is “the league’s most prestigious honor, recognizing players who excel on the field and demonstrate a steadfast commitment to creating a positive impact beyond the game.”
Travis recalled how his upbringing made him want to give back to those in need in the video, and he credited his parents, Donna Kelce and Ed Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce, for serving as his inspiration.
“I had a beautiful childhood and that has everything to do with my parents and the family aspect I grew up [with] in Cleveland Heights, Ohio,” the professional athlete said. “The east side of Cleveland is such a melting pot of social class and race and religion and I was able to relate to all those kids growing up and really appreciate everyone for who they were.”
After Travis joined the Chiefs in 2013, he created his foundation, 87 and Running, to help those in the community. “I created it because I really wanted to make sure the city felt as much love from me as I do on Sundays,” he explained.
Taylor subtly showed her support for Travis after more than one year of dating. Ever since they confirmed their relationship in September 2023, the “Cruel Summer” singer has attended many of the Chiefs games to cheer on Travis. Meanwhile, he has also flown around the world to see several of her Eras tour shows when they didn’t conflict with his football schedule.
While Taylor and Travis haven’t shared too many personal details about their relationship with the public, an insider exclusively told Life & Style that she “has felt like she’s had the best year of her life” amid their relationship.
“Her relationship with Travis has strengthened so many parts of her and made her more confident and fearless,” the source continued. “Finding a love like this has changed Taylor.”
After noting that Taylor “has always been a strong woman,” the insider said that “she’s also battled self-doubt and feared criticism like anyone else.” The source continued, “She says getting older and being in a healthy, loving relationship has allowed her to let go of a lot of that.”
“With Travis, she doesn’t seem so concerned with what people are or aren’t seeing,” the insider said. “It’s refreshing for everyone to witness her being so much more relaxed and authentic.”
