Kamala Harris has nominated Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice presidential candidate
Likely Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice presidential nominee, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
Harris held a meeting with her team over the weekend to select vice presidential candidates. The meeting included former Attorney General Eric Holder, whose law firm Covington & Burling LLP scrutinized their backgrounds and financial records.
Harris’ campaign officials said the candidate of her choice will tour seven states with her. Topping that list is Pennsylvania, a state that both Harris and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump see as one of the most important to the outcome of the election.
In addition to Philadelphia, Harris and Walz will visit six other cities in five days: Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Durham, North Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Las Vegas, Nevada. A Harris campaign spokesman said earlier on condition of anonymity.
