Congress ordered the White House to report on Biden’s health record

The Republican-led House Oversight and Accountability Committee has ordered three US administration officials to tell lawmakers about US President Joe Biden’s health and mental capacity at closed hearings.

Lawmakers sent subpoenas to appear at the hearing to Biden aides Annie Tomasini and Ashley Williams, as well as an aide to U.S. First Lady Anthony Bernal. They are being asked to respond by July 17 and to appear on Capitol Hill later this month.

This signals the Republicans’ desire to make sure that the administration officials closest to Biden have not hidden the true state of his health. Comer also intends to find out the “degree of influence” of the designated persons on the US President and the level of their awareness of his condition. Tomasini and Bernal have access to the Bidens’ residence, which is unusual for officials who deal mainly with political issues.

Comer tried to call these same administration officials to a hearing when congressmen were considering a case about Biden’s improper retention of classified documents, but all three did not show up.
