A costumed Halloween parade was held in New York City
Several tens of thousands of New Yorkers marched in a costumed parade through the streets of Manhattan on Tuesday, celebrating Halloween.
The annual parade was already the 50th. According to the organizers, it usually involves more than 50 thousand people. In 2023, New Yorkers after dark with their children and pets walked down 6th Avenue in costumes of witches, zombies and other monsters. The event lasted about four hours.
Anyone could take part in the parade, the main condition – the presence of a costume. In 2023 on the streets you could see dressed up as Donald Trump, other famous personalities and various fictional characters: a doll Chucky from the movie of the same name, Superman, the heroes of the series “Squid Game”. Order was ensured by reinforced squads of police officers. The situation was calm, law enforcers did not interfere in the course of the event.
Preparation for Halloween traditionally began in advance. Already in a few weeks residents of the city began to decorate their homes with pumpkins, skeletons and cobwebs.
In 2023, according to media reports, at least six people died and more than 40 were injured at parties in the United States on the eve of Halloween.
Halloween is traditionally celebrated on October 31, but because the date fell on a weekday in 2023, many American cities held their festivities on the night of October 28-29.
