Trump accused Democrats of using the justice system as a weapon in a political fight

Donald Trump accused representatives of the Democratic Party of using the American justice system as a weapon of political struggle.

“The Democrats don’t want to fight against me in the presidential race or they wouldn’t be resorting to this unprecedented turning of justice into a weapon,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social media page. Later in the day, Trump is expected to appear in court in the D.C. metropolitan area for a hearing on the January 2021 Capitol Hill riots.

This is the third criminal case against Trump. He was previously indicted in a case involving the forgery of financial documents at his Trump Organization, as well as improper handling of classified documents.
