Steven Spielberg won the Golden Globe for "The Fabelmans
The 80th American Golden Globe Film Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles on Wednesday night for services to film and television.
The award for best director went to Steven Spielberg for “The Fabelmans. It is based on Spielberg’s memoirs of his childhood in Arizona and California.
The picture also won Best Drama Film.
Best Actor in a Drama was Austin Butler for his role as Elvis Presley in the film of the same name. Best Comedy Actor went to Colin Farrell for his role in Banshee Inisherina.
Best Actress in a Drama was Cate Blanchett for her starring role in “Tar,” where she played the conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky made a video address at the ceremony.
He recalled that the Golden Globes began to be awarded during World War II.
Ukraine’s battle against the Russian invasion symbolizes “the struggle for the rights of a new generation who knew about war only from movies,” Zelensky said.
“Millions of people died in World War I. World War II killed tens of millions. There will be no World War III. This is not a trilogy,” the president of Ukraine said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine will stop Russian aggression with the help of the democratic countries of the world.
“The war in Ukraine is not over yet, but there is a turning point in it, and it is already clear who will win,” Zelensky added.
