Biden administration allocated $10 billion to fight crime in U.S.

The Biden administration will devote $10 billion to public safety in the country. That’s according to a White House statement released Friday.

The money is in line with the nation’s crime-fighting strategy approved in June 2021, the statement said. They will go to state and local governments that have responded to the president’s call for strong action.

The approved measures include increased police spending, expanded educational and economic programs that will create new jobs and help prevent crime.

“President Biden reiterates his call for communities on the ground to invest more in strategies to make life safer and spend as many dollars as possible before the summer months, when communities historically experience a seasonal spike in violent crime,” the statement said.

According to the White House publication, President Biden will also discuss the issue of fighting crime on Friday when he meets with mayors and law enforcement leaders.
